Nymphoplasty "Labia Minora" in Montreal
The aesthetic reduction surgery of the labia minora of the vagina, also called Nymphoplasty, is not widely known to the general public. It has recently gained popularity mainly due to the recent interest it has generated in the Quebec media.
Thus, more and more women who have undergone surgery confess: “I never knew that this was possible while it has always been a complex for me.”
Why Consider Nymphoplasty Surgery?
Nymphoplasty, also known as labiaplasty or Labia Minora surgery, is a cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedure aimed at reducing the size of the labia minora or altering their shape.
This procedure is often sought by women who experience physical or psychological discomfort due to the appearance or size of their labia minora, which can affect their quality of life, comfort during certain activities, or self-confidence.
If you experience discomfort or wish to improve the aesthetic appearance of your intimate area, nymphoplasty can provide you with a tailored solution, thereby enhancing your well-being and confidence in your femininity.
The procedure of Nymphoplasty by Dr. Bensimon:
1 hour under local anesthesia
The Surgery
- Nymphoplasty involves trimming the excess from the labia minora primarily to improve their aesthetic appearance.
- It is advisable not to remove skin around the clitoris to avoid causing loss of sensitivity.
- While in the gynecological position, markings will be made to estimate the excess that needs correction.
- A very small needle is used to numb the area to be treated, and there is no pain during the procedure.
- Nymphoplasty is performed in less than an hour under local anesthesia. A mild sedative medication may be administered if needed.
- Several techniques have been described, including direct approach, W-plasty, and V-shaped resection. They are all equivalent and provide excellent results.
- Two rows of dissolvable stitches are then placed.
- The risks of Nymphoplasty are very low and include infection or bleeding.
After the Surgery
- Nymphoplasty is more uncomfortable than painful, with discomfort often related to swelling or edema of the labia minora in the two weeks following the procedure.
- Pain can be relieved with prescribed analgesics for the first few days and Tylenol thereafter.
- It is recommended to simply rinse the operated area under the shower after using the toilet. Additionally, applying an antibiotic ointment during the first few days is advised.
- The stitches will have dissolved by the fifteenth day. In the majority of cases, the scar from a Nymphoplasty is imperceptible.
