V-line Procedure in Montreal

This is a powerful procedure that reduces the height and width of the lower face. It also creates a smaller and more feminine chin.

What does the V-line procedure consist of?

For patients with square or long jaws, the V-Line procedure is extremely effective in softening masculine features.

Scarring Transformation:

Dr. Bensimon performs this surgery with only incisions inside the mouth so there are no visible scars. It transforms a U-shaped jaw into a V-shaped one.

Advanced Technology:

Dr. Bensimon employs state-of-the-art technology, the Sonopet ultrasonic aspirator, to delicately cut bone while protecting nerves and blood vessels.

Personalized Treatment Planning:

A 3D scan is required to map the mandibular nerve and plan the amount of bone that can be safely removed.

How does the V-Line procedure take place?

  • The operation lasts about two hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
  • There are no external scars as the entire procedure is done through the inside of the mouth.
  • A suspension of the mentalis muscle and the chin is performed before closure to prevent a drooping chin.

Un scanner 3D est indispensable afin de cartographier le nerf mandibulaire et planifier la quantité d’os qui peut être retirée en toute sécurité.

After the Surgery

  • Swelling should last 2 to 3 weeks.
  • A soft diet and protein drinks are recommended for the first week.
  • Applying ice to the area is also recommended to reduce swelling.
  • A chin strap may be used for a week or two.
  • Pain is moderate and easily controlled with pain relievers.
  • The lips may be slightly numb for a few weeks after the operation.
