Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty in Montreal
Rhinoplasty is one of the most meticulous and complex procedures in cosmetic surgery. The trend is no longer towards overly profiled noses resembling a “ski slope,” but rather towards more natural profiles that are harmonized with the rest of the face.
The goal of rhinoplasty is to achieve a natural-looking nose that harmoniously integrates with the face, while respecting its physiognomy and character.
The objective of the rhinoplasty surgery
Rhinoplasty aims to improve and refine the shape of the nose.
The procedure, performed at our clinic in Montreal, can smooth out a bump, refine a thick tip, overall decrease the length and width of the nose to soften the profile, reduce the base of the nostrils, and lift a drooping tip. With current techniques, it is often possible to also improve breathing for most patients.
This procedure may sometimes be combined with a chin correction to balance the profile.
At what age can rhinoplasty be performed?
This procedure can be done as early as age 16-17, and there is no upper age limit for it.

The Surgery
Discover the techniques for nose surgery
We perform open rhinoplasties. All incisions are made inside the nose with a tiny incision of less than a centimeter below, which is almost imperceptible once healed. This technique allows for better control of all stages of surgery and precise changes to be made down to the millimeter. If it is necessary to reduce the width of the nostrils, an incision at their base is necessary.
Depending on the case, it may be necessary to reduce the bump, narrow the width of the bones, reduce the cartilage forming the nasal tip, perform mini internal grafts taken from the removed parts or the internal septum. Dissolvable sutures are used.
A septoplasty and reduction of turbinates may also be performed to improve breathing.
Ultrasonic Technique: Piezzo
Dr. Bensimon is one of the few surgeons in Quebec to use the ultrasonic technique, also called Piezzo. This allows for more precise and gentle work and significantly reduces bruising and postoperative swelling.
Rhinoplasty is most often performed under general anesthesia unless it is only to correct the nasal tip or remove a small bump.
The duration of the procedure is on average 2 hours.
